Who are Scribes?
Medical scribes are becoming an integral part of modern medicine. Scribes are highly motivated college level students that are looking for the optimal stepping stone that will provide them with exposure to the healthcare setting. Universally, scribes are bright, hard working and excited about medicine.
What does a Scribe do?
A scribe is an unlicensed clerical paraprofessional who provides clinical documentation assistance to licensed providers within an electronic health care record. The main role of the scribes is to capture all necessary information to meet the EMR requirements. This information will be proofread prior to final submission by the physician.
What are the requirements to become a scribe?
Applicants will require being on the healthcare track. This includes MD, DO, PA, ARNP’s and nursing prospects. Each scribe must retain the following core values:

  • Critical Thinking
  • Multi tasking
  • Efficiency
  • Collaborator in a healthcare setting
All scribes will require certification via the ACMSS (American College of Scribe Specialist) during their training period. Apart from his or her certification, each scribe is required to achieve a certain level of medical knowledge in order to successfully complete the training process.
How long does a scribe stay in the program?
Each scribe is required to a one-year commitment of employment. Our scribes will rotate throughout various practice settings to ensure adequate coverage.
Will a scribe improve my efficiency?
Given the complexity and mandatory compliance of the modern medicine the use of a medical scribe has proven to be effective across various health care settings. Synergy will offer a 12-week pilot period prior to any commitment to ensure we are able to meet our client’s expectation.
Does Synergy Scribes offer services in my area?
We currently staff the South Florida area, however are more than able to provide services where needed.
